Content guidelines
What you can publish on Nottpad, and what happens when content crosses the line.
Write freely, rate honestly
Nottpad permits all lawful content. Age ratings are assigned automatically after publish. Authors cannot set the band directly. You may declare a one-time 18+ self-label at publish, which cannot be removed without an appeal.
What we remove
- Content sexualising minors: zero tolerance, reported to authorities
- Harassment, hate speech, and credible threats
- Plagiarism and copyright infringement
- Spam, bots, and coordinated manipulation
- Content that deliberately misrates its age band
Age ratings
Every published story receives a machine-assigned age rating (All ages, 8+, 12+, 15+, or 18+). 18+ stories require age verification and an explicit opt-in before you can read them.
Appeals
Disagree with a rating or moderation decision? Submit an appeal from your story dashboard or the appeals page. A human reviewer will look at it.
